Spring Storm Thanks

Spring storm freshen the earth. The morning is a wonderful sight. Smells gather around me as I walk in my yard and inspect the garden. Potatoes showing their greenery give me hope for food in the future. Green peppers already the size of a small ball help me look forward to fresh salads.
Thanks to the rain. Thanks to the wind. Thanks to the sun.

Imagine

I like to imagine a world at peace:
a world where neighbors do not feel threatened by prowlers
a world where families can reunite at the end of a work day
a world where those you love have not been taken away
a world where children are safe
a world where love is practiced daily

Hannah

Bubbie likes to give Hannah a hard time. It's a pastime for Bubbie.
Hannah has an important job in the community in Crossing Delancey.
Come to the performance to find out.

Sammy

Bubbie is active in influencing granddaughter Izzy's decision in her choice of suitors.
Bubbie likes Sam. Sam is active in influencing Bubbie, yes they like each other.
Izzy should be so lucky.

Bubbie's Quote of the Day:
I like you Sam. Your'e a smart cookie. You got a few brains.

Once was a Beauty

Bubbie's granddaughter Izzy is a beautiful young woman. Bubbie was also beautiful in her youth and doesn't let an opportunity pass to let others know about it. For her, it's like punctuating a sentence.

Bubbie quote of the day:
Twenty-one years old. Cheeks like apples.
They fought like cats and dogs for me.

Here is Aubrey Reynolds as Izzy, the beautiful granddaughter.

Blintz

Always on the table, blintzes are another of Bubbie's luscious treats.
Izzy, Bubbie's granddaughter, can get a bit embarrassed by the way Bubbie courts for her.
This line is delivered to Sam, one of Izzy's suitors.

Bubbie's Quote of the Day:
You like my blintzes? They're the best thing you ever put in your mouth.

Crossing Delancey is to be performed at Covey Center for the Arts in Provo, Utah.

Tagelah

Bubbie makes food all the time. She feeds her friends and family and her acquaintances that she teases. One of her acquaintances is Hannah, who eats a lot. Bubbie loves to give her a hard time but deep in her heart Hannah is a friend.

Bubbie Quote of the Day:

She loves my tagelah. Who wouldn't? She's never tasted anything so good in her whole life.

Bubbie's Quote of the Day

I have many of Bubbie's lines running through my head as of late.
So I figured I should share some of her wisdom with others.

Bubbie Quote of the Day:It must have been 3 . . . 4 eggs, half pound of butter--good quality chocolate. Nothing cheap here.

Spring Morning.

A perfectly still morning greeted me. The sky was so blue I immediately got lost in it. Crisp grass under my feet and a rabbit running between my legs, how can waking up in the city be any greater.

Spring Snow

Last night I smelled Fall in the air. Yes I said Fall. You know that smell, it's hard to describe but it fills you nostrils and tells you, "Snow is on the way."

This morning the surprise is here. White fluffy flakes holding on to the tree limbs and new leaves with all their might so the wind will not take them to the ground. The green, green grass is covered but the gift is the walk is so warm--no shoveling.

More and More Words

Bubbie's words are becoming part of me as I remember more and more lines.

I toured my spring yard this morning with Bubbie's lines and songs in my head. It is so interesting to be two people at the same time.

Driving and Riding

Just have finished a fast trip to Moab and back. Whoosh. Lots of driving, well for me riding. So nice of Paul to drive the whole trip. I had a ton of time to study lines for Crossing Delancey.

What very excellent people we met--David and his daughters Whitney and Morana. To be named after Thomas Moran, how inventive. Spending time with Frieda from BC was an honor. I hope she has the best of times on her adventurous traveling.
