Tucson Festival of Books 2014

Tucson Festival of Books 2014

This is certainly one of my favorite book festivals.
Not just because I participate.
It's full of energy, creativity, presentations, performance and
of course books, books, books.
I never tire of reading.
It fills me up and takes me to places,
all kinds of places--fantastic, realistic, scary, adventurous and loving places.

Join me at the festival's Author Pavilion West
on Saturday, March 15th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

I will have both my books for sale and would love to chat with you about them.

Fun Morning on the Set

Fun Morning on the Set

It was a fun shoot for a commercial this morning.
Ten women and ten decades represented--all about serving soup.

I got the 1950s. Although the hat is mine (I put it on for the photo)
the makeup artist was fantastic.

Russia

Russia

The Olympics has me thinking about Russia.
What I know about Russia is very little.
Here it is:
What I've read in literature
What I've read in history
What I've heard in the news
What I've been taught in school
What I've heard in music
What I've seen in photographs
What I've seen in architecture
What I've seen in art
What I've seen in film

But I do know this, I own Russian matryoshka dolls and then give me pleasure.

Sun and Moon

Sun and Moon

The morning clouds drifted over the sun.
It became the sun and moon.
Gone now.

Snow Falls

Snow Falls

We stand on the footbridge as the sun peaks over the mountains.
The rays expose a steamy river.
Fresh powder fell through the early morning hours.
It gently covers the trees--the newly budding branches, the rough bark.
The warmth touches the branches.
Oh what a joy to watch the powdery snow fall
And dance through the air.

Bugs and Slugs

Bugs and Slugs

Today I set some potatoes in my greenhouse.
It was a great day for my green peppers, well maybe more for me. Yum
I had a battle with bugs and slugs today.
Yes, I did have to sacrifice one tomato plant for the good of the the greenhouse.
