The 200 South Bridge in Salt Lake City now has a understructure spanning the Jordan River.

Construction of a New Bridge on Second South, Salt Lake City

 Second South Bridge

I live in the Poplar Grove Neighborhood in Salt Lake City.
We are undergoing major street construction.
Several bridges of the Jordan River are being replaced this year.
The Second South bridge is one.
[Pia Okwai is the Shosone name for the Jordan River.]

The first bridge was constructed sometime in the 1890s.
Lake Breeze neighbors wanted it repaired as early as 1899.

This 1911 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map shows the location.

In 1956 it was again determined to need an upgrade.
These photos from the Utah Historical Society show the remodel.

Currently (2026) the bridge is under a new construction phase.
