Brown Floral at 100 Years

Brown Floral at 100 Years

Brown Floral began as a hobby by Leon Brown in the Salt Lake City
Poplar Grove neighborhood.

In 1915 Leon had built his first greenhouse.
By the 1920s his business was flowering.

His entire family was at some time involved in the floral business.
He started the kids when they were young.

Advertising was always an important factor in the business.

Today Brown Floral is owned and run by Rob Johnson and Tracie Drage.

I am presenting the history
of  the Brown Floral Company and family at the next
Poplar Grove Community Council meeting.
That's on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 beginning at 7:00 pm!
at the Pioneer Police Precinct, 1040 West 700 South in SLC.
Please join us and help Brown Floral celebrate 100 years of business.

Enos Wall Mansion

Enos Wall Mansion

It's exciting to see the Enos Wall Mansion transform again.
It has had various owners through the years.
The LDS Church has donated the mansion to the University of Utah.
The mansion was originally owned by James Sharp, University of Utah Chancellor
and once mayor of Salt Lake City.
Enos Wall who bought the mansion and whose name seems forever linked with it
hired Richard Kletting to perform a "re-do."

Here are some photos of different looks through the years.

It is now undergoing a face-lift. More photos to come.
