Ella Stivers as an artist

Ella Stivers as an Artist

My Grandmother, Ella, was many things--a mother, a teacher and also an artist.

She created many works including water colors, oils, pencil and pen sketches, pottery.

Here is one of her pen sketches that I particularly love.

Wow, look at that car

Wow
Look at that Car

This is a 1919 Bentley

I had the opportunity to see one of the two that exist.
I don't have a photo of it because I was on a set where photos are forbidden.
Boy it was sharp!

Here is my costume from the dressing room.
No photos on set.

Mattie Shipley Culver

Mattie Shipley Culver

On Saturday, July 21
I will be sharing a power point presentation
about Mattie Shipley Culver.
At the West Yellowstone Public Library
from 2 to 3 pm.

I will concentrate on the home sources that helped in my research
to uncover the past of Mattie's life.

Maybe you have some of the same home sources from your own family.

And of course there is the biography to read.

City Grid System

Salt Lake City Grid System

Sometimes I have to wonder at folks who can't understand
Salt Lake City's grid system.
Many other cities have grid systems--
Rome, Copenhagen, London, Paris, New York and so many more.
Here are some American Grids.

The Christians

Listen to Emilio Casillas, director of THE CHRISTIANS by Lucas Hnath, speak about the show!

Twenty years ago, Pastor Paul's church was nothing more than a modest storefront. Now he presides over a congregation of thousands, with classrooms for Sunday School, a coffee shop in the lobby, and a baptismal font as big as a swimming pool. Today should be a day of celebration. But Paul is about to preach a sermon that will shake the foundations of his church's belief. A big-little play about faith in America—and the trouble with changing your mind.
This full-length play is not recommended for audiences under 10.

Tiny Die Cut

Tiny Die Cut

From my great aunt's scrapbook/autograph book,
this die cut was so tiny I had to scan it with a huge dpi.

It is smaller than half my pinky nail.
Oh so pretty.
